Trustee Masterclass: The Oversight of Risk

This is one out of four masterclasses Brendan Mullan will be facilitating. They are all specially designed to support the development of Trustee members. You can either book a specific masterclass or get special value by booking to all of them. 

Session 1: Effective Board Governance (1st November 6-8pm)

This workshop will focus on the statutory responsibilities of Trustees, the board cycle of business, the control and performance frameworks for effective governance, adding value as a Trustee.

Session 2: Strategic Direction, Financial Oversight and Stakeholder Relations (15th November 6-8pm)

The board’s role is to ensure delivery of the organisation’s objectives within a framework of prudent and effective controls. This workshop will explore tools to assist in setting out strategy, what information is required to provide robust financial oversight and the importance of strong stakeholder relationships in delivering objectives.

Session 3: The Oversight of Risk (29th November - 6-8pm)

Risk is a barrier to the achievement of strategic objectives and an organisation’s success. Trustees have a responsibility to understand and manage the risks faced by their organisation. This workshop will introduce the concept of risk appetite and provide insight into the oversight of risk from a Trustee perspective.

Session 4: Board and Trustee Evaluation (13th December - 6-8pm)

The achievement of good governance requires a board to reflect on how it has performed as a group and as individual trustees/directors. This workshop will focus on performance improvement through evaluation and explore tools and procedures to facilitate the evaluation and appraisal of the Chair, Trustees and the unitary Board.
