A conversation to explore options in developing a collective voice for the Voluntary and Community Sector regarding the mental health strategy

Brenda Kelly has been commissioned by the Department of Health to undertake a review in support of Mental Health Strategy Action 17 commitments contained in the Mental Health Strategy Delivery Plan for 2022/23

As you may be aware, Action 17 of the Strategy commits to fully integrating the community and voluntary sector in mental health service delivery with a lifespan approach including the development of a protocol to make maximum use of the sector’s expertise.

The Mental Health Strategy Delivery Plan for 2022/23 committed to the following key activities on which the review, that Brenda has been commissioned to undertake, will centre on:

· Explore options to help support the community and voluntary sector in developing a collective voice for mental health; and

· Put in place appropriate support for the sector.
